Barre Flavor Recap
As many of you know, especially if you follow my Instagram, I recently won a contest through Barre and my prize included two bars of each of their three flavors. I’d had their Black Swan flavor before, but the other two were new to me. And I was very excited to try them.
I brought a Ballerina bar along with me to my contemporary dance choreography class this weekend, saving the bar for after class, when I knew I’d be exhausted. (And extra tired because the night before was karaoke night with Madison & Co.) I ate the Ballerina bar on my drive home and was really taken aback, in the best way, by it.
The Ballerina bar is a spirulina flavor, made with dates, coconut, nuts, and other natural ingredients. The texture blew me away, it feels like a super-fine grit, but in a refreshing way. It’s also a very, very light bar. It feels like there’s no weight in your mouth while you eat it, and the light spirulina flavor is very unique.
I then brought a Pirouette bar with me to work over the weekend and had it for breakfast before my shift began. Pirouette is a cinnamon pecan flavor, which made me nervous at first because I’m not a huge fan of pecans. This bar is probably my least favorite of the three. The cinnamon was too overpowering for me, but that’s probably because I usually only eat cinnamon in very sweet foods.
The Black Swan bar, which I have written about in the past, is a chocolate berry flavor, made with cocoa powder, dates, and cranberries as the main flavor providers. This bar is a very nice mix of sweet and hearty, though the use of cocoa powder rather than straight-up chocolate keeps the bar from being overly sweet.
Which flavor would you most like to try? Or, if you’ve had Barre before, which flavor is your favorite?
